IPTV UK on a Firestick

The Firestick is what most people in Britain watch on, and it asks one thing of you first: permission to install an app that is not in Amazon's store. A minute's work, done once.

Get Downloader

  1. 1.On the Fire TV home screen, go to Find, then Search.
  2. 2.Type Downloader and pick it from the list.
  3. 3.Select the orange Downloader icon and press Get.

Let Downloader install apps

The switch is in one of two places, depending on the age of the stick.

  1. 1.Newer sticks: Settings, My Fire TV, About. Highlight the Fire TV Stick line and press the middle button seven times. Back out once, open Developer Options and turn on Install unknown apps for Downloader.
  2. 2.Older sticks: Settings, My Fire TV, Developer Options, then Apps from Unknown Sources.
Worth knowing. Cannot see Developer Options? The seven presses on the About screen bring it back. Amazon hid it in an update.

Install a player and sign in

Open Downloader, enter the app address from your WhatsApp message and let it install. Any of these three:

Choose the Xtream Codes login in the player and type in the username, password and server address from your message. The channels and the guide load themselves.

Prefer an app store to sideloading? An Android box or Chromecast takes the same players from the Play Store, and a Samsung or LG telly runs one with nothing plugged in. Have a look at the channel list before you start.
